Interesting arrangement on those leading edge flaps. Looks like they could act as an airbrake too.

Who knows....

It does however make the most errie sounding and loud 'blue-note', as seen on flypasts over Moscow last year.

Last I read, recent generation Russian missiles were far from 'Bobbins' - rather quite good I seem to recall.

One would they would stay in the neutral position in the event of any hydraulic issues, otherwise could be a tad challenging...
