T-45 Crash - Lake Worth, TX
 

A T-45C - assigned to Training Air Wing 2 at Naval Air Station Kingsville, TX - has crashed in Lake Worth, TX - approximately two miles northeast of Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth.

Both crew ejected successfully - one had parachute caught in power lines.

Crashed in a residential area damaging 3 x homes but no persons on the ground injured.

One male crew stabilized on a gurney being wheeled to air ambulance - so not walking - hoping for the best.

Ejected aircrew are ideally transported to hospital on a spinal board with neck immobilised, as a precautionary measure against fractures which might cause spinal cord damage if dislodged during transit. Such handling should not be treated as an indication of the individual's actual condition. (I know of one ejectee who had to be told to "lie the f*** down and keep still, sir!" by a first responder who found him running around the airfield trying to retrieve items that had fallen out of his pockets during ejection!)

It was a huge relief to hear from my local NBC news coverage today that the 2 Navy pilots were "...the only ones on board..." the 2 seat aircraft.
