Scrap Kings on Quest
Features the scrapping of the back end of the Manston Nimrod.
just a heads up, the cockpit area went to the Museum. |
????????????? !

It’s a tv series where they demolish stuff, they were scrapping the Manston Nimrod amongst other things on this show. Some on here probably flew it or in it.

XV229 was the last MR.2 to fly, another one bits the dust. I've now reached that age where everything I've flown is either in a museum or has been scrapped.

Should be safe for you to step outside now Bob :)

Sadly the delayed clear out of Manston has been affected by that pesky virus too. While some airframes have relocated to Moreton in Marsh, others went into the crusher at a nearby scrappy. These included a Wessex and the slightly charred remains of Phantom FGR.2 XV411.
That said the Jaguar once flown by Andy Cubin is now in the hands of Jet Art for restoration. And BPAG have save the last derelict 74 Sqn F-4J (UK) which will stay in RAF colours. Unlike the other one that flew into Duxford and is in the AAM in US Navy c/s As for the Nimrod, I suspect its size was the unfortunate part of bot relocating it all |
Hi Nutty, have had a look on the listing but I don't see it listed over their 4 seasons. Any idea Season / Episode please
Thanks |

I was rather perturbed to find, upon a visit to Cosford with Project Propellor, that there are a number of airframes in the museum that appear in my logbook! |
Luckily there is the odd chinook and Puma I worked on still flying, I see the chopped off front end off one of the VC10 I worked on every morning and evening :(

Thanks "In Kent, a team crush the tail end of a maritime patrol aircraft" S04E08 of Scrap Kings |
Sorry just seen you message but it’s been answered, didn’t think much of the way they scrapped it, they crushed it with the interior trim and ducting still in it, neither of which will burn. They also had the wings and fings lying about in the yard.
