What a belter! One of my favourites.

Father got me a copy of this print from the Science Museum I believe, just before the Ark was going to be decomissioned. The Phantom taking off was a cracker as well.

I have a signed artists proof,No 10 of 25, of XM607 returning to Ascension.Signed by the Artist Simon Atack and Martin Withers.Given to me on my 70th birthday and has pride of place in my Dining Room.

The `players`; Sandy One` Capt R Drury,USAF ; C/S `NAIL`- FAC OV-10..;`Jolly Green` -Capt E.Robbins ;
Rescuees;C/S `Whitestone 516 A & B..,USN A-6 ;
Others..;More A-1s,and some `fast movers`,rockets,napalm
Opposition ..;Vietnamese Army plus radar controlled 23/37mm guns..
Where?; along HCM Trail
Result..? Both A-6 rescued,WSO injured,hospitalised; Pilot,got totally pi%%ed,RTU`d to Carrier 2 days later...

The print is by Mike Machat and Richard Drury,..No 165/1000,bought in Oklahoma ,mid `90s`.
RD also wrote about his year flying Skyraiders in Vietnam and Laos,called "My Secret War",well worth a read....
