Agree with your sentiments completely. :ok:

Without wishing to sound pedantic, but in recognition of their contribution, the Band appears to be a composite of Coldstreams (Red plume), Irish (Blue plume) and Scots (no plume). The Pipers and Drummers are Royal Scots Dragoon Guards (Scotlands Tankies), currently based at Leuchars in Fife.

.... whose current CO rather fittingly is, I believe, the son-in-law of a retired FJ Air Marshal.

I was also interested to see that the greatcoats worn by both The Prince of Wales and the "nameless" CAS appeared to have gold-braided shoulder straps, and wonder when that came in and for what ranks, in preference to the more ceremonial style worn by officers of Flag and General rank.

And of course I agree in principle with Chugalug, although I also feel that all those who took part in the current circumstances deserve a big Bravo Zulu..

"Pleased to see both the Prince of Wales and his number one son both wearing RAF uniform for the ceremony. There have been years when it has been unbroken dark blue from Prince Philip down until the CAS appeared to lay his wreath. Oh and I do wish the Princess Royal would wear a skirt with her naval uniform and not trousers."

I'm with you CJ, or BZ as some like to say!

I've just 'listened' to the minute's silence on the radio at 11.00.

Except it is not silence, more like white noise. I think I would prefer real silence in which to contemplate and remember.

Just watching Spotlight on BBC 1 and was completely shocked to see the Union Flag being flown upside down during Remembrance Day in Plymouth!!!

The school the grandsons attend is built on the site of the former RAF Swinderby. This video of their Act of Remembrance was posted on the school's facebook page.

You could always switch off your radio?

11:00 radio rather makes it clear that the nation has fallen silent for 2 minutes.

Corporal Chris Addis, Sergeant Dave Kinsley and Captain Phil Jarvis. We will remember them."
