Ryanair flight escorted into Stansted

Ryanair flight from Cracow to Dublin just being reported as escorted by RAF Typhoons into Stansted following declaration of emergency.

A note was found saying that was a bomb on board.

Whilst its clearly good news the matter was a hoax, unless and until the perpetrators of such things are forced to pay the full costs of the event there is little reason to believe they will stop.

The RAF jets alone will be over £100,000 worth of resources, and that's before the airline and passengers get involved. These people should be breaking rocks until the bill is paid in full.

But hey ho I'm sure its against their human rights or whatever...

There is a good chance it was someone on board. So that person(s) may be found. That said, though the cost of the interception and escort is high, it would have been good practice for the crews, Ops & ATC.

Two men arrested. I wonder how busy the flight was?

Do pilots and captains get specific training for this sort of stuff?

I'm not telling you.
