I don't know the exact details Vampiredave, as it was just after I left. It was in the North I believe - that is: out of Seeb rather than Salalah. Early 1976 at a guess??

I wonder if it was Strikemaster Mk.82A, '416', which was lost during an air test near Bid Bid on 20 March 1976?

Vampiredave - that sounds exactly the right time and place. Bid Bid area was IIRC used for air tests, and I left in December '75.

That's definitely the one Treadi - the pilot's name confirms it; 'twas he in the OP's film clip. And certainly an airtest and not enemy action.

(and looks like the report is wrong about Salalah - Bid Bid is only about 30Km south of Seeb!)
