Flt Lt Eddie Craig
Sad to report that Eddie Craig (Vulcans and Canberra's), passed away last night. Good pilot, great sense of humour, privilege to have been his friend.

I remember Eddie Craig when he was a Cpl 'Lecky' at Chivenor in the late 1960s. He was always fun to be with and rather a 'smoothie' with the local girls. I last saw him in front of Vulcan at Mildenhall, several years later. A really nice guy and I am so sorry to read of his departure. RIP - Blue Skies

Knew Eddie when we were in quarters together at Duxford in 73/74. Was happy to lend him my Flymo. A nice chap. RIP.

Eddie Craig
Although I don’t know him personally there is an Eddie Craig currently serving.
The thread title may have caused a few missed heart beats in some quarters! BV |
Sad to hear this news. I flew with Eddie a few times whilst I was on 360 Sqn in early 90's. RIP.

Sad news indeed, really enjoyed flying with Eddie on 360 Sqn in the early 90’s, a good and safe pilot. Particularly remember his wit, his spoof countdown to dropping a ‘Nuke’ on Maralinga range, which he used to transmit in the middle of a JMC was epic, everything just stopped as everyone listened and forgot about what they were supposed to be doing, better than any jamming 😊 RIP and blue skies Eddie.

Fond memories of Eddie, a smile, a laugh and a smoke during the PR9 det to Seeb at the start of Op VERITAS in 2001. He lived across the road from us on the patch at Marham - a great bloke. RIP mate.
|
Fond memories of Eddie and his famous RT messages - Following a double flame out on an air test around FL400. ATC "Lost your squawk - Recycle" Eddie "if I could I would but I am in a glider".
RIP Eddie |
Had the pleasure of meeting Eddie and then working with him at Marham on 39 Sqn. He was invaluable at providing advice on the vagaries of the Canberra. Invariably always smiling and with a great sense of humour. A sad loss; RIP Eddie.

I seem to remember an Eddie Craig who went through OCTU at RAF Henlow, March - June 1972. Could this be the same one?
I was also on that course, 259 Red/Orange, from memory. |
