Nice jet, but news to me that Luxembourg has any armed forces - they must be pretty small.

Herod 14th Apr 2020 15:23

From Wiki: The Luxembourg Army is the national military force of Luxembourg. The army has been a fully volunteer military since 1967. As of December 2018, it has 414 personnel.[

I suspect though, like the Swiss, most able-bodies citizens are militarily trained

A national flyover between putting in the bread and it becoming toast.

If Luxaviation is anything to go by; I give it 2 years before they have an H24 airborne Nuclear deterrent and a dozen carriers at sea :}

You do know that one of the largest air cargo operators in the world is based out of the Luxembourg airport?

Dan Winterland 16th Apr 2020 09:28

In keeping with the tradition. What does it say about your country when the national carrier only carries cargo?

(PS - I know about Luxair before anyone mentions!)

BEagle 16th Apr 2020 19:20

Rather cargo than pox-ridden bat and mongoose eaters exporting their vile infections around the globe...

Not as far as I know, having lived there 11 years, with many many Luxembougish friends, etc. None of the able bodied were military trained unless they opted to join the Army.

I have also visited the Luxembourg forces, and yes, they are very small indeed. The country may be small, but the quality of life is second to none. :ok:
