Battle of Britain The Movie......... 1/72 scale

Excellently done lol

Sorry PN, No Pilot Officer Harvey

Dimmer Switch 9th Apr 2020 15:25

Well, that certainly wasn't the most productive 20 mins of my day so far, but easily the most enjoyable - I'm amazed at the effort some people are prepared to expend just to put a smile on some other peoples' faces - thanks :)

Green Flash 9th Apr 2020 15:27

What Dimmer said. Thanks Nutty :)

ExAscoteer2 9th Apr 2020 15:55

Most excellent! Where did you find that?

She was a Section Officer WAAF, equivalent to a Flying Officer.

Someone posted the link elsewhere on another site I frequent, it's only been online a few days.. On the link below is the trailer, the making off, which features the real film alongside the 1/72 scale shots.

Brilliant. Done in the best "Boy's Own" tradition.

Green Flash 9th Apr 2020 18:11

And it opens with possibly one of the best marching tunes ever written.

diginagain 9th Apr 2020 18:54

Great! Now do it in LEGO.

ORAC 9th Apr 2020 19:43

Seemed a bit........ cheesy......

Chugalug2 9th Apr 2020 19:45

A Spanish production that 'de-Spanified' the He-111s and Me-109s, most commendable. They might have at least blown up Biggin for us and have a 1/72nd scale Section Officer Harvey yell her immortal line, "Don't you yell at me, Mr Warwick!". More intimate scenes would have challenged the most skilled modeller perhaps. Excellent effort all round!

.....and, to save PN's blushes, surely you meant BEagle?

Jack

NutLoose 9th Apr 2020 22:59

Of course I did, but I don’t think PN would have minded... well I hope he wouldn’t..... sorry :(

It was Duxford, and yes they blew up one of the Belfast Truss hangars there - the other 3 are now Grade II Listed Buildings.

NutLoose 10th Apr 2020 12:40

They also did not have permission to blow it up.

pr00ne 10th Apr 2020 15:03

Nutloose,

And I think it was another case of "you were only meant to blow the bloody doors off..." as in they didn't actually mean to blow it up completely. But you are right, they certainly did not have permission!

Brilliant! Fair play to the creators for spending the time on this.

pax britanica 10th Apr 2020 15:36

Great -specially for us in locked down UK relying on German charity for ventilators, not much dount who one the battle of COVID 2020 I am afraid

One of the best starts to any film of any genre -right up there with ever since I was kid I always wanted to be.... a gangster.

Thanks for taking so much time and effort , brightened up my day , I am impressed you didnt go over the top with some of the scenes.

MPN11 10th Apr 2020 18:25

Lovely!! And numerous apperances of S/O Harvey, albeit fully dressed.

I have great admiration for those pilots dog-fighting whilst having a huge acetate rod stuffed up their undersides. 😎
