Military banned from using Zoom as unsafe over security fears
And now the Government are using it for Cabinet meetings etc..

he MoD never said it was unsafe - just don't use until the "security implications are investigated " - so box ticking still in place I guess
Understanding the difference between platform and content would be quite useful for the Government at this point. Probably too much to hope for.
They were backpedaling yesterday when they found out BoJo et all were using it all the time to talk to foreign leaders, and for conference calling...................
Surely that does not mean it is secure, simply others haven't been as security conscious in assessing the risks,
Most techies reckon they're pretty secure - it just hasn't "passed the required UK testing regime" - but as ever people take the issues into their own hands and use it because it's there, easy to use and the nay-sayers have nothing to offer....
As Zoom was just called out for linking its call data to Facebook(now ended), the Military may only be being prudent.
If you don't know its secure, it isn't.
Nothing electronic can be proved to be 100% secure............
Cabinet today reportedly using Skype for Business due to security issues with Zoom. Seems the MOD was setting a good example for the rest of Government - not terribly often you can say that!
Well if it was good enough for Thunderbirds....

Given the way this Cabinet leaks they might as well put in a live feed - at least we'd get it un-spun.................
