Found this on YouTube. Seems the powers that be aren't too happy about it.

Well they can hardly chop them. There won’t be anyone left!

Absolutely. The MOD recruit keen and driven young people, promise them a fantastic career, then severely limit their prospects by destroying flying training. This is precisely the sort of response I would expect. Good on them, and they are only telling the truth.
The MOD and Press should be asking who made the decisions that led to the lamentable state of flying training under MFTS, and holding them to account. Leave these students alone...it could have been so much worse. |

I always laughed when the Reds were cycling around their sequence.
I could see a spoof Reds video coming, but "Top Gun"? not even the kids on the block would be doing it. IG |

You’ve got to love the Mirror. It’s all because of ‘years of Tory cuts’ apparently.

Driven young men, who have probably spent years wanting a pilot career in the Military, finally achieve their dreams, only to be let down by a system which is mainly not fit for purpose. So they blow off a bit of steam, which highlights their frustrations.

You can’t get into too much trouble if you’re too busy completing an intensive, 18-month Flying Training Course.
You can get into a fair bit of mischief when you spend 2+ years with less to do than a UAS Cadet. At least UAS Cadets have degrees to complete in their non-flying spare time. |
Military insiders said course progress was slowed down by Tory-led defence cuts from 2010 to 2015, when the Government allowed more pilots to be trained. |
Good on them. Hope it embarrasses certain 3 stars who ‘oversaw’ MFTS. You know who you are.

What do they do in the months between courses? Do they get sent elsewhere to be SLJO and do menial tasks or are they sent on leave?

Yet the RAF website has a big PR page showing another VSO naming the Shawbury Ascent Building as the Duke of Cambridge building and heaping praise on the new training system - you just couldn't write it!

That was a funny film , well done chaps , maybe shouldn’t have put it in the media .

Video on DHFS from Forces TV here:
"The students are benefiting from a GBP 1.1 Billion upgrade of the site and facilities ..." - Whiskey Tango Foxtrot - I'm glad my taxes now go towards buying things like the B-21 Raider - you could get 2 for that ! "already its helicopters spend around 100 hours a day in the air" - I should $@#*ing hope so given the numbers - 29 x Juno + 3 x Jupiter - but I doubt it ! |
