For all you VC10 lovers AND VULCAN

There is a apparently new model kit coming out and it is in 1/72 scale, that might not sound big but the Airfix one was 1/144 so you are looking at about airline display model size, this first image shows an example of the size it will be though it isn't of the new kit, the other links show the versions :)

I gave up and got those guys in the Phillipines to do a lovely Victor K1 for me - even got to specify what serial, etc. Worth the extra money and much better than the lash-up I would have made! They will do you any VC10 mark you like - my preference would be for one in BOAC livery.

Why did the rear-engine phase stop so quickly?

I thought that the clean wing, noise at the rear etc was all a good idea. F28, F100, DC-9, B727, VC-10 etc. Is it the disturbed air behind the wings, or the dirt / water spray behind the wheels on landing? CG problems with a heavy engine so far back?

It would allow larger diameter engines to be fitted without the ground clearance and software problems of the 737MAX.

Structure weight incurred from all that weight at the very back end would be my guess, and missing out on the wing bending relief that under wing engines provide.

military version.

and nothing related to the VC10 but from 2013 radio controlled championships.

Some insane level of detail on that Russian plane. Especially the cockpit with pilot whose head rotates and the video displays ... unreal flying too!

Can you put Air Stewards in it and pretend they’re Aircrew? :E:E:E:E

Can you provide a link or contact email please?

I cant find a link to their website but the email address is [email protected] . I was very satisfied. The medals are in solid hardwood. As the work progresses they send you photos for your comments, and you can get them to make alterations as necessary. I specified a particular aircraft in 214 squadron markings with the colour scheme, roundels etc correct for 1973, and that is what I got. Scale is approximately 1:72 . The only problem was that when the aircraft arrived, in spite of being well packed, the refuelling probe had drooped slightly, but as that is a problem not unfamiliar to gentlemen of my age I decided to leave it as it is!

Hope you get on ok

The Mach2 kit is available for pre-order from Hannants, apparently they had a few kits available at the Telford show this past weekend.
