Reports in the Telegraph saying that the vessel had 30% of its sonar panels missing, when returning from a 3 month patrol.

That doesn’t reflect well on the Navy........ |
Is this a story? Every picture I have seen of a submarine that has been at sea for a while has tiles missing. |
It's probably the carriers fault.....or Brexit.......

Bloody hell Pasta! |
Oops, sorry, my last post is way off line. I read too quickly and thought Astute/Trafalgar class, which do get up to some "interesting" stuff. Mea culpa.
The business of these boats is definitely *not* to get up close and personal with anything! |
When is the on patrol French boat coming in? Might be worth seeing how she looks, seem to recall there was a coming together a few years ago.
|
Didn't a US Virginia Class arrive in Faslane 2 weeks ago with similar problems.
|
Looking at the photographs it has lost a few tiles which is normal. To think the Telegraph used to be good on RN stories it now seems to be on the same level as the Sun.
|
Read about the incident somewhere recently, said it was normal to return about 10% deficient in tiles, but this one was about 30% missing..........
|
Pasta- not having a go. I'm normally quite passive on this forum but this thread got me a bit active. Just thought I'd ping you a dit old chum. |
TTH, it was the Telegraph.
|
Isn't the underwater environment pun-ishing?
|
Up Close....and Personal.....yes it does happen!
