US Navy Hornet down, crew safe...
|
General Neller said: “In fact right now we’ve got too many Hornets; we’ve got too many airplanes.” |
I can think of a few Air Forces, perhaps a navy or two given a proper ship, that could find a use for a couple of Super Hornet squadrons.......
Very glad the crew are OK. |
Quite a stretch for the NY Times to cite "A hint of possible problems with the jet came from Gen. Robert B. Neller, commandant of the Marines, in January..." That is quite clairvoyant of them- and from a Marine Corps General, where the Marines don't even fly the Super. While aircraft numbers, spares, manning and upkeep are all issues, I somehow doubt the root cause will come down to too many jets.
