Air Clues Publication
Can anyone tell me if there is an online Archive for the RAF publication - Air Clues and where i might find it?
I am particularly interested in the war time issues, mid 1940s. |
Our good friend Coff would have posted a link. we miss him dearly on here. i know he maintained the thread on here. Mainly links to the lastest online editions. i sent him some back copies for his archive a good few years ago now. He had the skills to scan and upload certain interesting articles. they will still be on here somewhere Bless him |
Whispering Wings. Air Clues did not exist as such in WWII. The equivalent publication was Tee Emm. A Google search will throw up various links, such as this one:-
Tee Emm or this one:- http://www.chingchic.com/raf-tee-emm...ndum-1942.html MOD seems to have removed its Air Clues archive. Here is a link to #26:- https://www.raf.mod.uk/our-organisat...lues-issue-26/ Back numbers can be found here:- https://www.raf.mod.uk/our-organisat.../publications/ Edited further to add here is the much heralded but ill fated Wg Cdr Spry thread. There may be some follow up links in the posts there:- https://www.pprune.org/military-avia...nder-spry.html |
Air Clues?
Hi all, A good friend of mine (pilot & ex RAF) has asked for some help with research, and I hope this forum can assist with some suggestions. "Does anyone know of an online archive for “Air Clues”, the RAF publication. I’m interested in accessing issues dating back to the mid 1940s. I’ve found various links through google but they are all dead ends or lead to the up to date issues." Ppruners: Do you have any suggestions? |

Thanks all. Whispering wings is indeed the earlier poster. |
As has been stated the Wartime publication was 'Tee Em'.
In 1991 HMSO published a compendium of Tee Em articles/cartoons under the title: 'The Life and Times of Pilot Officer Prune'. It was collated/written by Tim Hamilton and had the ISBN: 0 11772629 X It may still be available. |

Curiously enough I have a copy in front of me, but which I bought second hand from one of the concessions at Farnborough Airshow and haven't got around to finishing yet. It is an interesting read.

Is there an on line archive of the excellent Training Command Flight Safety magazine?
Much like Airclues, it was full of good stuff. Being an old fart, I am particularly interested in issues from early 70's to late 80's. |
