Osprey starts grass fire

Presumably an inevitability of having the engine efflux at the back of the rotating nacelles? |
I was quite worried at first, thinking the worst had befallen Hawker's pre-war naval fighter!
|
Thankfully, the full range of military activity has never caused a fire, on this or any other range, in the past.

It makes for a dandy diversion....all the Oppos are busy putting out the fire whilst the Lads sneak off elsewhere.
|
One hell of a fire-fight! |
The cause of the fire was attributed to a down draft from an American Osprey helicopter |
Beyond the fact that an Osprey isn't a helicopter ... ;)
|
..and in no way is anything an Osprey does in anyway shape or form "discrete..."

Hmmm...I once used the downdraft of a Gazelle to put out a grass fire in Canada.

It's quite a feat to start a grass fire in Wales.
|
I once watched someone try to do that with a Squirrel... He spent ten minutes making it much bigger then ran away. |
