I was on Wildenrath Battle Flight on the day; scary times.

I did not know of this incident, I do recall 007 and I have frequently flown that route and it always crosses my mind.

Interesting, I got a 404 error when I tried it earlier today. It works for me too now.

I recall the requirement, for years after the shoot down, when on the NOPAC tracks to pass bearing and distance abeam Shemya VOR as a cross check to ATC. Likewise, KAL 007 always crossed my mind when doing so.
