Hong Kong harbour was a regular R&R call for the US Navy during the Viet Nam era. There was once an aircraft carrier with more aircraft ranged on it's deck than FEAF had in total.

The sailors used to get off the Liberty Boat and hail a taxi for Wan Chai, the dark side of Hong Kong. On arrival the taximeter would show about $15. US$15 would be passed over to a very happy taxi driver who would cash them in at about HK$7/US$1.

In Mexico they use the same symbol for Dollar and Peso - $ so that...

Cabby asked us for 120 dollars to go to the beach, when pressed for peso price he realised I wasn't a Spam and asked for 70 pesos (10 dollars).

Pounds Sterling v's Egyptian pounds is a good game too (if you win)

Do you know I always thought the Mexican Peso had one vertical bar and the US Dollar 2
