UK and South China Sea air and sea presence, post intro of QE class.
Reuters, this morning, reporting a likely expansion of our sea and air military presence in the Pacific region. Wonder if we'll be looking for any strategic real estate.

If so we can always just build ourselves an island, that seems to be the custom in those parts.

Truly a comic of a statement. We are miles from deploying even 1 x ship in 2020, let alone 2, let alone 1 with a complement of aircraft, or more importantly a trained ships company with embarked strength squadrons.
Our governing classes are still on the drugs they took at Oxford and Cambridge (or in this case Durham) but just in larger quantities. Kim Darroch has probably never stepped on a carrier in his entire life and how he can suddenly jump to the operational deployment of these ships, way in the future is beyond even my addled old brain. We are in the hands of utter fools. |

"We are in the hands of utter fools."
