USN PT-305 Underway Again!

A bit of History gets a new life!

PT-305 is undergoing Sea Trials and Crew Training near New Orleans, LA.

During WWII she served in the Med in conjunction with Royal Navy Coastal Forces.

She is the sole surviving PT Boat and is owned by the WWII Museum in New Orleans.

Excellent!

41 knots from 3 supercharged 1500 bhp V12 engines running 100 octane fuel must have been great fun - albeit with a lot of danger...

Neat! Great effort by many.

But not quite "sole surviving PT boat"... Perhaps only operational version with combat record, but there are others of various makes in various states.
