Happy 60th Birthday to the Huey
On this day 60 years ago, the Bell XH-40 flew for the first time, and the rest is history.....from the jungles of Vietnam to deserts of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait etc and to Afghanistan....

It's much enhanced descendant - the UH-1Y - will probably still be in service somewhere on the 100th Birthday - an excellent machine still today.
