Boeing T-X advanced jet trainer revealed
Boeing's offering to the USAF T-X competition was unveiled,
cheers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QI7IzG2oEOM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QI7IzG2oEOM |
Looks kinda like a mix of Gripen and Hornet with a single Hornet engine. Front end, fuselage, and intakes look Gripinish down to the sawtooth in the leading edge about midspan, but with the Hornet's LEX added. And the tail end looks like a Hornet but with a single engine.
Interestingly, Boeing designed the aircraft to meet all the USAF requirements and no more so as to ensure min cost/price, even though USAF provided a "cost allowance" for performance that exceeded requirements. |
Interesting, not the most attractive aircraft.

But fits the genre of USAF tactical aircraft most closely compared to the others, in my opinion |

Shame that Saab seem to been edited out of the project altogether, going by all the promotional material.
