ORAC,
It occurs to me that this idea may link up nicely with the short-lived "Shopping delivered by Drones" Thread. Clearly this is the Final Solution. The (human) Drone can deliver the shopping ! Simple ! Danny42C. |
But ... I don't live by a lake!
SF might have an interest, though, if it's not too noisy. |
M PN11,
The things seem ro be able to vertical take off and land on terra firma. But I can see the advantage of flying over open water in event of power failure ! If the things could be made reliable (or carry a parachute), they might have a future. Rather glad I will not (hope not to) live to see it ! Suggested applications ? Danny. |
Danny it does say it has engine redundancy built in, I can see it having it uses for rapidly moving people ashore or ship to ship, and the automatous litter for flying wounded off the battlefield to rear treatment areas seems a sensible idea
|
Visibility of overhead telephone wires, power lines etc would surely be a problem for anyone on a mission.
|
Applications?
Getting home from Happy Hour in the Mess on a Friday night? What could possibly go wrong? LJ |
OK, try one of these too>>>>

Last time I read up something like this it's range was about two minutes in the air, interesting to know what this one does?

jolihokistix (#6),
Not if you went round at 6 ft agl. You would need to come down anyway to look for "Mon Repos" Danny. |
Remember Danny they are buying into the technology, by the time a militarised version appears one would imagine it will be bigger, safer, and have a greater range and payload.
|
Ah, but could it carry an Ass ?
