200 Air Liaison Training Section

A chap from The King's Regiment was at 200 Air Liaison Training Section in 1950. Do you know where it was based and what course it ran.

I don't and if you cannot get an answer in here I would suggest you ask in the Flypast historical forum, they are very knowledgeable.

If your chap was with The King's Regiment (Liverpool) in 1950, it seems they were about to go to Germany (Berlin) and were then posted to Korea in 1952, or in the ways of the Army, he might have been long-term detached. Is it definitely “Section”?

Any road up, in this context I wonder if “Air Liaison” might be more of an American terminology. Could this have been a US Army or Air Force unit he attended ? Either on a course prior to any potential cross-operating or as a Brit staff representative, whether commissioned or not, and depending on the length of stay.

This seems to be the modern version – referring to TACP and ASOC - but they have history :

“Air Liaison Officers have been assigned to coordinate
air and ground operations since World War I. The
importance of ALOs was identified early in the
preparations for World War II, and that importance
continues in today’s overseas contingency operations.”

There were 2 Army "Ground" Liaison sections at Gutersloh in the 80's (one with 4 Sqn, the other with 230); I worked at the Air Transport Liaison Section at Gut; perhaps some link with the former?
