Russian Victory Day flypast
Here's a video of this weeks 71 aircraft flypast in Moscow. One for the spotters as they had quite a few types on display ...
Fast forward to 51:20 for the flypast, 41:02 for the drive-by (is that the correct term?) Worth a watch to see the kit the land forces have and led by a WW2 T-34. The marching bit is around 25:00 |
Quite an impressive turnout.
The method of marching looks to be 'tiring' - and holding a salute must take practice and endurance. Most of the troops are smiling. |

Missing aircraft
Should have had a Hurricane (we sent them 3,000) with the lead tank, and a Lightning 'shadowing' the Bear !!
|
Parade lasted precisely one hour (the clock chimed at the start and at the end).

Those cars the generals were riding in looked a lot like a convertible version of my 1981 Ford Granada. Clearly a leading edge design.

KenV,
You really want to admit you owned a 1981 Ford Granada? TB |

There seemed to be a shortage of the general public watching???

The girls in the white uniforms were stunning! |
Noteworthy that there were no AWACs - or their much-lauded T50 - in fly-past?
Also, they need to work on their blue smoke dye. Compare and contrast that with the Red's output and Shuttleworth last w/e. |
Pretty impressed by the Flag Party - they were still perfectly aligned and hitting the same angles after goose-stepping the length of Red Square - and that is a lonnggggg walk........
|
Just think of the alternative!
