For Sale - Chieftain Tank + Ammo
I know you can buy personal weapons in the USA, but this is a bit extreme.....
ARMSLIST - For Sale: Fully Operational Main Battle Tank with 120mm Live Cannon We are selling our Cheiftain MK 6, main battle tank with 120mm gun. This armored tank is fully functional. The 2 engines both run great and have low hours on them. It comes with a NEW backup main engine. The turret is fully operational and the stablization system works; it is controlled via a joystick. The main gun is registered as a Destructive Device with the ATF and comes with 10 projectiles. More projectiles are available. The barrel is in excellent condition and has never been molested. It has a factory laser range finder. Also included is the hydrolic mine plow and infrared spotlight. The intercom system works as does the NBC filtration. This was previously owned by the late Jacques Littlefield, who held the single largest tank collection in the world. His foundation, the Military Vehicle Technology Foundation hand picked it from the UK and fully restored it. After he passed away, we were presented with the chance to purchase it. It has been in Oklahoma since. This is the ultimate toy for the guy or gal that wants the biggest and best. Serious offers only please. Oh, it's an 'armoured' tank, is it?
Gee, I've been looking for one of those. |
Can it fly?
Does it have an AA role? |
I believe it crept on here as a target.
|
Pish.... Just like the F4, all it needs is to be on the right side of the thrust/weight curve.......

The main gun is registered as a Destructive Device A friend of mine owns a Stolly. I'll let him know; they would go well together. |
"Fully restored"
Oh dear, so it may not start and will probably break down :E Bring back the Centurion |
Jacque Littlefield is perhaps the more interesting news snippet. You have to see the collection he originally put together to believe it. Remember this was his private "home" collection, not a museum. His (former) house where the collection lived is a couple of miles from mine, and I recall how surprised I was to discover this all out when he died. Seriously I think he had 120ish tanks..hell he had a Scud on its launcher!

Well I was browsing some nice 25mm discarding sabot AP ammo at my local gun store today - not 120mm but still quite good at poking holes in things.
United Nations Ammo Company (UNAC) - Ammo Search It's a different way of life over here, very different than my origins in Cheshire, but personally I wouldn't swap this brand of crazy for that brand of crazy. Each to their own :} |
Thanks for that link, ion.
Gee, what a toy-shop. A bit of a shame the collection's being dispersed. |
