Interesting Grass Blower
|
Bloody hell
|
Like watching a buried OAP rise again!
Unfortunately, only good for blowing grass or de-icing Bruntingthorpe's runway. |
Let's hope the nozzle/throttle controls are restricted to prevent a repeat of the Bruntingthorpe/Victor incident!
|
Like watching paint dry !

"Nozzles/throttles restricted"? There are hundreds of aircraft which aren't necessarily airworthy but aren't so modified. Many of them would make a much bigger hole than a Harrier. What's so special about it that it needs the ANO re-writing?
FWIW there's one in private hands on the U.S. display circuit...as well as two Mig 29's |
some kiddicar!
|
Great. Can't remember when I last enjoyed watching an aircraft start up, taxy around a bit and then shut down quite as much as that. I didn't make it the last four minutes; did I miss anything?
|
But then there are some houses where there won't be a dry eye!
|
After seeing Nutty's exclamation, I sat through the whole damn clip, awaiting revelation.
I want my money back! |
Shot One:
"FWIW there's one in private hands on the U.S. display circuit...as well as two Mig 29's" Doesn't make it any easier in EASAland. There was a Lightning flying in South Africa too. |
ShotOne,
My attempt at humour obviously failed. |
Sorry Stanwell, you tend to hear about xyz being brought back to life and to ground running condition, but this one was off the chart so to speak and as such a pleasant surprise.
I find it very inspiring that people are spending money bringing these aircraft back to life, far better than simply sitting in some overgrown museum slowly rotting away, at least with it running, it's systems working and airflow through the structure it's life expectancy is increased. Never mind Courtney, I suppose when they get the Phantom at Brunty up and running you won't be impressed with that either. |
Nut, it would go against the grain for a non-Harrier mate to sound pleased. :E
|
Nutty, not really. I saw an F4 start up taxi and shut down once. Show me a jet flying and I'll watch with interest. I like to see them where they were made to be.
Don't you think this is a bit like spotter territory? Anyway, if it floats your boat, that's fine. |
Great jet, but six minutes of driving around a field isn't exactly exciting. Is it?
