Machynleth loop airprox 21 August last year

Exiting & entering the loop - 2 x Typhoon v 3 x Hawk. Any rumors about this? There's probably an earlier thread that I've missed but I couldn't find it so if it's easier than answering the question please point me.

27 Aug to be more precise - good old press.

The report states that the Hawk formation was equipped with TCAS, I assume the Typhoon isn't/wasn't. Would that have made a difference in terms of situational awareness for this incident?

Unlikely. If the Hawk TCAS couldn't 'see' the Typhoons (assuming their transponders were serviceable) then it wouldn't have worked the other way either. They would have been hidden to each other by the terrain.
