I'm happy that the airmen were recovered and buried with the honours that they deserve. This serves as a poignant reminder of just how dangerous training was in those days. It will be good to have a Nomad on display, another of so many unsung aircraft.

This is very cool.

This recovery site is in a major recreational lake in central Ontario. I have boated there many times, never knowing what I was crossing over. Much of my floatplane testing is done on this lake, so I am there often.

I landed in at the operation in my plane two days ago, and chatted with the crew. They had some pieces of the plane up, saying that they expected to have the entire plane up this week.

The nearby airport, Muskoka CYQA, has a very pleasing display of military history local to the area, as it was a major air training base during WW 2, with Norwegian pilot candidates being very prominent.
