Aerodynamic tweaks for Eurofighter...
Eurofighter: new aerodynamics set for 2014 test flight - 6/25/2014 - Flight Global
I was intrigued by the following quote: Laurie Hilditch, head of future capabilities at Eurofighter, says the modification kit should give the aircraft the sort of “knife-fight in a phone box” turning capability enjoyed by rivals such as Boeing’s F/A-18E/F or the Lockheed Martin F-16 -RP |
Like all of these 'mine's better than yours' arguments it depends whose flying it. A clown in a supership will be no match for an ace in a last generation supership. There's no argument of all things being equal either as all things are never equal. If they were then either everyone is shot down or everyone is not shot down. I think I'm having a Schrödinger's cat moment here. Or maybe I'm not.

Brilliant! I'd like to see a side-by-side comparison drawing of the changes. |
@ Thing - Place a jockey in a bog standard airframe and flying by the numbers, within all capabilities will still be able to be out-performed by a monkey flying a system with multiple redundancies and automated assistance when **** happens.
AFCS in Lynx springs to mind.. |
There is no doubt that a jet with a better dynamic capability is the one to choose in a dynamic capability fight. However, IMO, pilots have a huge range of capability that can eclipse an otherwise clear-cut fight!:ooh:

I bet our good friend Dragartist would liked to have worked on the new design for the ILS shroud/strakes ... a 70 degree delta design ... further vortex generation just aft of the foreplanes ?
