I'm the owner of A Canberra PR.7 Nose section, that very Canberra PR.7 in the photo WH779 and it's on display at Newark Air Museum. I'm very keen to make contact with the crew of the PR.7 to help build on the Aircraft history. Home - EE Canberra PR.7 WH779 |
The fast jet looks like the Tornado F3?
If I remember correctly the GR4's have two things under the cockpit that stick out. |

Typhoon, you mean the short-nosed F3 that is the GR1? I guess you didn't look closely enough to see the cockpit in line with the intakes, the shorter radome, and the pod under the nose.

Tornado is a GR1A from 13 Sqn (if taken in 1991, based at Honnington).
|
...hope you're not an Air Defender Typhoon93:eek:
|
Not at 21 he isn't.

The PR9 was from 39 Sqn / 1 PRU and the PR7 from 100 Sqn, both temporarily repainted in XIII Sqn colours. IIRC the photo was taken to celebrate the reformation of XIII Sqn. Must admit I thought it was taken in 1990 (i.e prior to the sqn 'mini' deployment to GW1).
