Ah yes as a young J/T it was my job to keep al the electrics working on the Lyneham ones which meant fun times ground running them and wrecking the tarmac!!!!!

...Most of the 12 Sqn aircrew watching from the crewroom as the mighty beast struggled to clear the massive pan at Honington - followed by OC Eng on foot keeping an eye on the action - how we howled when he went a**e over t*t on the Olympic-quality ice rink the machine left behind...

The above pic is of a jet engine equipped tank designed to clear minefields :eek:

The Russians used tank as a decontam unit as is the truck I believe, it was later used to blow out Kuwaiti oil well fires.

I have just got to have one of these, you could melt so much tarmac so quickly and in relative comfort and just let air tragic complain, it would make melting the taxiways at Thorney look like amateurs day!
