Troops stuck in Kenya
The BBC have said we have troops stuck in Kenya who is flying them back??
Air Tanker maybe!!!!! Mole Man:ok: |
Nothing to do with aircraft related delays, just the fact that no Battalion is inbound so no aircraft to fly them back on.
BBC News - British soldiers return from Kenya training delayed |
It seems that the Kenyan gov. are reciprocating against the UK gov's warning to tourists that Kenya is unsafe. A bit childish as I'm sure there are many countries around the world that would happily accommodate this training for the economic income it provides.
Smudge:ok: |
Sitting here now by the pool in Nairobi drinking Tusker. It doesn't feel that dangerous. And there's a near empty 747 flying back to the uk tomorrow night so no excuse for leaving people out here.

They're enjoying the pool and free bar in the mean time.

I remember popping into San Fran to pick up 2 Para once and went u/s for a week. Can't recall the passengers complaining. On rates in a 5 star hotel!:ok:
|
If hope they get some quality R&R, it's not very often that a good freebie happens, make the most of it I'd say...

Call me old fashioned, but surely if you send folks out to XYZ a recovery plan would be in place, if not and a delay is envisaged then why is this newsworthy as it would have already been factored in..... Time off? No doubt some spoilsport out there is working on making it useful.

Sharpend, I expect you will find that the pax are on accom with meals on fixed options. They may be eating and drinking at their own expense outside of this. "Rates" don't exist anyway.
OAP |
Had an unexpected stopover in Nairobi some time ago (1966) transitting from Madagascar back to Aden. Had a wonderful 4/5 days in the Spreadeagle Hotel. I wonder if it still exists:E
