Glad pilots OK, hope no one on the ground got hurt.
Was watching another close in video of the wreck burning furiosly, 3 guys walk towards it and then all of a sudden things started going bang ! Exit stage left very fast ! |
The location is in a small 15,000-person town near NAF El Centro - 1 block further and the aircraft would have crashed on open ground. TV crew from San Diego 100 miles away en route.

Glad to hear that the pilot ejected with no casualties on the ground. It is also encouraging to hear that the first aircraft that able to give airborne assistance to the authorities (LA ATC) was a RAF C130J. :ok:

3 guys walk towards it I hope they have Quarantined the area and moved everyone well away, especially under the smoke plume, burnt carbon fibre strands entering your lungs is the last thing you want, it will kill you, maybe not today, but certainly tomorrow, Remember the Crash and Smash bods who were subjected to the shards when they went to one of the first RAF plastic Harrier incidents in woodland. Their lungs were shreaded by carbon fibreshards. |
Nutty, you will notice they were voicing concerns about possible occupants of the aircraft, car, and house. I see that as being a bit Noble even if they were not aware of the all the dangers.
