Did they invite Beagle along?

Toadstool 18th Dec 2013 20:29

Nope, this is the modern RAF.:O

Avtur 18th Dec 2013 21:27

Jonathan Beale didn't seem too impressed by it all.

As someone once put it, operating a drone instead of flying an aeroplane is likely to appeal to those who prefer watching pornography to having sex....:(

That is a battle for the future. The one that has tried to rename the drone as a remotely piloted air system has probably already been lost.
Indeed. I wonder which journo first picked up on my 'Drones of Death' post some years ago, when some worthless insurgent was plinked by a drone? Other journos soon followed suit - and now 'drone' is the universal term used in the UK by everyone except the MoD and its drone operators.

I think the word 'drone' is very useful. It provides an immediate combat indicator that the individual using it has no knowledge of what he's talking about!

...an immediate combat indicator...
Oooh - what a warry little turn of phrase....
