Kendrew barracks Cottesmore runway
Anyone know if the runway is still serviceable or planned to be used by the army for transports ,
Tonight I was walking the dog on the hills south of Oakham but at the same height as Cottesmore about 4 mile south West on the approach line and watched an AC landing light approaching at height to the NE of the runway and descending until it was on the ground in the general area of the runway.
Being 4 miles away on the other side, I obviously couldn't see if it was fixed or rotary. but it seemed to be following a normal fixed wing approach over the A1.
