When my off-spring was doing the French TP course in 2000/01 there was an RAF guy instructing up the road at Salon de Provence on the Tucano and another flying the Mirage 2000 further up the road at Orange. Both Tornado men IIRC, forgotten their names but the Mirage man's lady had been a Jaguar pilot. She was taking time out to procreate!
When my sprog was at Valley his main instructor was a Frog (1989/90), and at Istres his Chief Instructor had been trained at ETPS - and under 'small world' heading the two of them collected a 380 from the paint shop in Hamburg recently with sprog, a non Airbus employee, in the LH seat. A Herc mate of mine told me that swaps between Lyneham men and the Frogs were common, he having spent a few months naving on the Transall. |
The Tornado man was probably "Ugly" W****n.
3P:ok: |
Ugly was a mud. Orange is a fighter base is it not?

The home of Escadron de chasse 2/5. Since before 1958, when I was there.:ok:

Orange
B48N - I think the man at Orange was my old mate Ghandi - and F4 AD man. Kind Regards CB.

Just checked with the sprog; Salon man was A*** G***, his wife Fiona was a great help to my daughter-in-law with doctors etc as she spoke French fluently, the Mirage man was Paul something. He knows Ugly whatever, they are same vintage!

We had a Jag pilot (D.N.) on XXX(F) in the early 90's, nice chap.
