Flt Lt H.A.W.G. Millar (Rtd)

Unfortunately the Maritime and Canberra Fleets have lost one of their Air Electronics Officers to one of the diseases that we still haven't found a cure for. Today in Leanchoil Hospital Forres at 0830z Graham lost his battle with Cancer and passed away. He was a fighter till the end but sadly he lost.

I didn't know him well but he was always a friendly character around the Mess at Wyton RIP.

off task mate, watch closed, RIP

Very sad news. One of the true characters during my time with 360. Deepest sympathies to Graham's family. RIP matey. A strong one in your memory imminent.

Shocked by this news. I knew Graham very well. We went through Airman Aircrew training at Finningley at the same time and were on the same Nimrod MK1 OCU. Turned out we were from the same hometown, only he went to the posh school :) It also turned out that his father was my uncle's CO during WWII. Courage was in abundance in the Millar family. Graham was a great character and he will be sorely missed.

Safe journey Graham. You certainly fought it long and hard but it was never a fair fight. Condolences and thoughts from me and Mrs R are with your family at this sad time. R.I.P.

Flew with him on CXX. Always cheerful and a thoroughly nice bloke to boot. Farewell, will drink to his memory.

INT_QRU 22nd Dec 2012 07:16

My first AEO as a young dry man on 201.

Cheers Graham

Sad news indeed. I served with Graham for a few years whilst I was on 201 back in the late 80's and 90's.

Definitely one of the nice guys, RIP Graham

Hadn't been in touch with Graham for years, but that doesn't diminsh the sadness both me and Mrs DS feel on hearing this news. We have only the happiest of memories of Graham - his easy-going approach to everything life threw at him made him a very easy bloke to like. We hope those same happy memories will be a comfort to his family - you can be assured that no-one who knew Graham will be able to think of him without smiling. RIP

Sad news indeed and agree with all of the above. Deepest commiserations to the Millar family. Graham was also my first AEO arriving on 201 in 1985. Only bloke I knew who drank black tea with 4 sugars!

Good knowing you fella.....

Safe sailing fella, rest easy...

Tmillar 22nd Dec 2012 20:58

I would like to thank everyone for their kind words. They are of great comfort to myself and my family and have certainly made me smile, especially the black tea with 4 sugars as I had to make enough of them!

Tracey (Graham's daughter)

Very sad news - as others have said one of the good guys on a sqn as well as, for many years, the godfather of Kinloss cricket. RIP

Nobody, but nobody, could get as many free drinks out of the hosties on the BA London to Inverness shuttle as Graham. We used to get poured off that flight - he had them wrapped around his little finger!

Rest easy Graham, you won't be forgotten.

There can surely only be one with those initials. Regularly confused the PTI's at Halton thinking he had a double barrelled surname.
Lost touch after he was posted from Abingdon (Belfast Major's) to 216 Sqn (Comets). Ironically the squadron I finished my time on.
RIP mate and thanks for a great weekend in Edinburgh more years ago than I care to remember.

Phoney Tony 24th Dec 2012 18:54

Very sad news indeed. I served with Graham on 201 Sqn and enjoyed his company. Rest in Peace mate. Condolences and thoughts are with his family.
