Probably the same sort of logic / justification that leads to so many random Regts walting around with spurs on their mess kit when the closest the vast majority of them have ever got to a horse is sticking £20 on the 1630 at Kempton Park.
Or the fish heads sitting down for the loyal toast in case they bump their heads on the low beams of a wooden warship

... or the Hairy Arm Corps formed, IIRC in 1955 .....

..... got a hard time once from a Welsh Guards half-colonel who was mocking my CFS (well it was CFS (H)) tie or woolly pully or Big Badge or something, 'til I pointed out that CFS was formed in 1912, 3 years before the Welsh Guards. :ok:

And who says there's no point in knowing Military History ...... :E

Only cavalry regiments wear spurs on their mess kits, and only regiments who were once issued with swords carry them.

Crabs just look daft prancing around with swords trying to emulate the cavalry. Swords are not part of their heritage. If crabs want to dress up then they should stick to their own heritage and wear leather hats and goggles.

In defence of "sacks of ****" I should point out that the RNZAF does not have any specialised pomp and bull**** airmen, such as the Queens' Flight or the RAF Regiment..whatever, so all such parades are drawn from working tradesmen and women who undoubtedly would rather be elsewhere!

I also note that the correct shoulder flash is "Royal New Zealand Air Force" in full, and not "New Zealand" as worn by Charles.

Anyway....You should all think yourselves lucky we see some relevance in the the Royals at all.....;) bloody hell, even the Skippies were kow-towing!

NZ still has an Air Force?
Fortunately, yes, otherwise all those redundant RAF types wouldn't have anywhere to go....:p The RNZAF also, it should be pointed out, has six more MPA than the RAF currently .....;)

Not true, so do officers in the RE as (I am told) RE officers used to ride around encouraging the sappers to do some work...

... and, as I kind of hinted earlier, so do the AAC.

Edited to add: Good lunchtime session was it, cuefaye?

Don't touch it these days - maybe I should so that I could better share your nonsense
