I missed the births of my 2 sons. Number 1 at Nocton, Number 2 at Catterick. Both were early.

When I mentioned my absences to a Sister at Catterick, she replied "Oh well, as long as you were there for the conception".

That comment got my mental arithmetic working overtime.

Thankfully, I worked it out that I was.

To me THE MOST IMPORTANT issues are the next of kin be close to the patient and the nursing staff that look after our sick and injured be service personnel as they MUST have that black service sense of humour.
Perhaps the most important issue is that they get the best level of care possible. A Service input is important, but having been to a Service Hospital and been the only patient in the place (but some great dits from the PONN), I'd rather have a busy and experienced civilian team supporting me.

Tankertrashnav. I was born at Ely in 1971 - you my daddy??
Hmm, possibly - are you wealthy? I could do with a rich relative to supplement my pension ;)

Is identity unknown of your daddy ?

CSA may be interested as I can see child support outstanding from 71-89 plus interest....No wonder TT is denying everything :ooh:

My Father wasn't present at my birth, as it wasn't 'the done thing' back then.

He was on duty as a county ambulanceman, delivering a baby at the roadside, on route to the same maternity hospital he'd dropped my Mother at earlier...:hmm:
