Hand Crank.......Any one????
Strange as it may seem.....I am looking for a wartime type hand cranked air raid siren.
Original or reproduction will do as long as it has the correct sound  Please peer into the dark and dusty places where these things are often left and forgotten. Needed for a charity event so cheap / free is the watch word ;) (Mods if unacceptable to beg here please delete with my apologies) Thank you :ok: wingcmdr |
You do know this will get smutty replies, don't you.:\

I've heard tell of a Waddington based AEO who used to take one to every home game at Sincil Bank; for use when the Imps got a corner, didn't get worn out I expect.

There was an electric one on a warehouse that went up in London of late, the neighbours would probably let you have it for free, as the fire set it off and it went on for most of the night :D
Probably what you want is this replica WWII Japanese Hand Crank siren | eBay Which I think you will find is this one YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. Secomack one went for nearly £200 on flee bay the other week, missing the rubber handle keeper. They DO crop up from time to time, strangely with the rubber but usually missing the wooden packing crate.

Makes me think of the Air Raid warning scene from the Battle of Britain. Just before the classic Don't you yell at me Mr Warwick!
