Bulldog Bird Strike Article

Guys,

In a crew room far far away I recently refered to an old Air Clues article which was about the probability of a bird getting through the propellor unscathed and hitting the canopy of a Bulldog in flight.

Does anyone have a copy they could scan and post please?

Thank you

MM

Bird strike through prop

Dont know what the conclusion was in your article but I had a strike on the canopy of a Grumman AA5 (fixed pitch prop) as I rotated - and it went right through the prop (approx 2400 rpm), only losing one leg on the way (remains picked up).

RNHF Sea Fury had a gull go through the prop at Sarfend a few years ago; not sure how intact the gull was but there was an impressive dent in the cowling ring above the spinner.

I'd hate to hit a Bulldog Bird!
