Back on topic though: A68 at A697 junction, 1310 (approx) today, who was driving the Albert that scared the life out my wife??? She says can you please do it again, as frequently as you like, but preferrably when the kids are back from school so that they can see it.

Wokkafans, You were definitely spoilt today by the number of Chinooks. Did you see the yellow Boeing Stearman as well?

I was walking around Frensham Little Pond late this afternoon with an elderly friend who is nearly blind. He's an ex-RAF national serviceman and aeroplane fanatic, so the sound of anything interesting going over enough to lift his spirits. He even rushed to the door for an S-76 going over later.

Indeed I did - I've seen it a few times and think it runs out of the nearby Wishanger Farm strip.

Perhaps it's a rebuild of this aircraft?

The Wishanger Strip has had a fair few incidents - the one in the link below crashed in the woodland at the back of our house trying to land. I can't see it being rebuilt - a very lucky guy indeed.

The Stearman you saw is most likely to be G-AZLE which operates out of a private strip near to Tongham if the weather is favourable.

Why not move a mile or so to the north? You would then be able to see the Odiham Chinooks "bashing the circuit" all day, plus the occasional airliner into Lasham and of course the executives into/out of Farnborough.

Sadly, it's all a shadow of the days when Odiham flew a squadron of Javelins on night flying sorties, DanAir Ambassadors whispered into Lasham for maintenance and Farnboro's RAE fleet did whatever they wanted to....

We are actually pretty lucky here as we get a lot transiting by/over us, mainly Chinooks, Apache, Lynx, Sea King, & Griffin. There also used to be a lot of night flying near Fish Pond at Wishanger but this has been a bit quiet of late

Besides the mil activity there's also a fair amount of airshow traffic transiting N-S so a real variety from WW1 vintage to recent stuff. Very rare to see any FJ's though :(

BTW was the bagger Sea King over Frensham Large Pond a few weeks ago preparing for the Navy's relocation from Portsmouth to the sailing clubhouse. :E

Red Arrows went to Goodwood today, I can currently see them out the window of the office at work parked up neatly at Farnborough Airport

I have been hearing Chinooks flying around for several days but not particularly low (I wish) but one did fly over my house in the dark last night. They always sound more sinister in the dark.
