Ummm... the article says "38 seconds from take-off to arriving at the scene".

I know what the thread title says, but let's not forget where the article says;

The five-member crew of the RAF Sea King .....

Biggus 18th Aug 2012 09:15

So, what exactly are the five crew positions...?

PURPLE PITOT 18th Aug 2012 09:21

3 sitting, one crouching, one dangling!:ok:

taxydual 18th Aug 2012 09:34

Captain, Co, Winch Operator, Winchman and Valet.

As any fule kno.

Basil 18th Aug 2012 09:39

Emergency window release instructions could do with re-arranging a bit.
Not at all clear for someone with no aviation experience.

Biggus 18th Aug 2012 09:46

It was the fifth person I was querying..... valet eh?

Squirrel 41 18th Aug 2012 10:15

Ok, so it's the usual standard of SKY reportage ("SKY - Never Wrong For Long"), but give the Flt Lt a break - he's got himself a proper job and he seems to be doing it well. Good for him!

Well done to him and his crew!!!

Fareastdriver 18th Aug 2012 11:39

When he was first posted to Valley there was an unofficial warning pushed out that if any publicity seeking dolly wanted to get into the papers by being rescued by Prince William she had better have a load of dosh in her bank.

I think these girls' piggy banks are safe enough.

Bob the Doc 18th Aug 2012 15:32

Does he have a Personal Protection Officer on board with him? Might account for the extra POB

NutLoose 18th Aug 2012 16:15

Probably Prince Harry, he appears of late to follow him round like a lost puppy.

DX Wombat 18th Aug 2012 16:40

Could the fifth crew member have been the helicopter version of this one? ;)

Rigga 18th Aug 2012 17:05

...but would this one merit a medal? After all, it got into the papers (well, some of them...).
