Meteor T7 vs. Skyhawk & Skyhawk vs. Hunter

Hi

I have 2 questions.

1. Which would be the first aircraft to 30,000 feet, a Meteor T7 or an A4 Skyhawk?

2. Which would be the better instanteous and continuous turner, the A4 Skyhawk or Hawker Hunter?

Because the power to weight ratio of all aircraft are approx. the same, would the climb rate and continuous turn rates be determiend by wing loading? If this is true what has a major bearing on instanteous turn rate?

Regards
Mark

It might be a bit of a race to 30 between the Meatbox and an A-4D Scooter, but i would suggest the Scooter would win.Appx 5 vs 5.5 mins. For the other Performance ,ie turning ,you have to look at wing loading, power/weight ,configuration(drag factors),roll rates,`G`limits, etc. In the end that will boil down to the `lift boundary` and specific excess-power,at whatever height.
Further reading at, www.aviation.org.uk-docs-flighttest.CH6, will enlighten you further, once you get past the `flute music`(equations).Enjoy..!!

I know which looks the best.

Depends on the model of A-4.

The A-4M had a big engine, and performed way better than those with the smaller engines - unsurprisingly!

I believe the Super Fox also had the big motor, but was lighter than the M 'cos it didn't have some of the kit on board.

A-4 against Meteor? I would back the A-4M.

Against the Hunter? Probably still the A-4M, especially if clean wing.

For a true answer, you need to get the NATOPS manuals and compare!!
