Old AAC Beaver found in Canada
On the 28th March 1972 I was the observer to Sgt Warner in AAC Beaver XP823 from Detmold to RAF Gutersloh
Years later I heard that XP823 had been sold by the MOD to a company in Canada. By chance I discovered who they were and sent them an email. She now has “floats”, has recently had a complete engine and prop overhaul and in September will be 50 years old !! They don’t build ‘em like that anymore !!. :ok::ok: |

Nostalgia aint what it used to be! I was that young REME Corporal technician that worked on Beaver XP823 at Detmold all those years ago.
Great to see her still flying. Incidently I now own a DC1 Chipmunk which celebrates it's 60th birthday this year. |
Eight years lurking and a first post, is this a record? ;)
