Babcock Instructor at Barkston Heath
Hi, basically I have an interview this week at Barkston Heath to work for Babcock as a Civilian FI.
Just wondering if there is anyone out there currently working for Babcock as an FI?! and if so what the job actually entails and what to expect at the interview? Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated =-) ollie |
Good use of the word 'basically'... :ok:
|
It's a word he likes to use quite a bit on PPRune - one in three of his posts to date:
Flying to Germany Basically, my flying club is trying to arrange a christmas fly out to a German Market. |
Basically, I'ld be thankful I got an interview with Babcock. I didn't even get an acknowledgement. :(
|
You'd probably cost more to employ than a young FI with 'basically' no experience.......
|
Much as I despair of the current system which no longer uses 100% military QFIs, do at least give the lad some credit for having posed the question....
I'm reminded of the ex-A1 QFI who went to work for Hunting or whoever it was back then - he had to take control and re-teach the exercise his 'assessor' was attempting to demonstrate...:uhoh: |
What I find rather odd, not so much the question of what to expect at the interview, is asking what the job might entail.
:hmm: |
Oliver, you could try searching Pprune - I know the search engine in Pprune is rubbish, but if you search in Google, but add "Pprune" or "BEagle" at the end of the phrase, you can usually find things.
If I recall correctly, there was a similar thread a few years ago. Candidates are required at the interview to stand up and deliver a ground school lesson, much as you would have done at your FI(A) test. |

What significance does the equal sign, hyphen and parentheses at the end of his post have? Is it some sort of secret code?
|
Secret code at end of original post!
:) Rotate thru 90 degrees to see smiley face!

So basically I rotated through 90 degrees but all I saw was the door to my study and no smiley face.

LOL, you kill me man, you kill me! :D |
Afternoon gentlemen, would anyone be able to advise me on the selection process which Babcock use for fixed wing instructor ? Obviously flight with chief pilot or similar.
Thanks. |
The OP has asked what seems like a perfectly reasonable question...probably for his first proper interview -and got a full page of nitpicking unhelpfulness. Was everyone here born with 10,000hrs?
|
He has probably increased his hours somewhat in the 2.5 years since he asked the question.
