Micro Air Force in disguise?
Does your MOD laptop require more horsepower to run longer? The wait is almost over, Gas Turbines for Laptops!
Engine on a chip promises to best the battery What ever next? Admittedly not aviation specific but the possible applications for micro UAV's seem mind boggling. |
Wow - amazing potential - could radically alter the way we do business - persistence, reach et - especially in the UAV and sensor world.

There's definitely a military application to that technology. My degree was oriented around it and the first thing that springs to mind is the plot of this book, which is worth a read by the way.

you would of course need one of these too..............
Amazon.com: Wheelmate Laptop Steering Wheel Desk: Automotive check out the customer supplied pictures, who said Americans don't have a sense of humour. and of course some of the reviews LOL My copilot and I both used these during our "daily grind" transcontinental flights from San Diego to Minneapolis. We had to modify them a bit to fit snug against the instrument panels (when we bought them we didn't realize the planes we fly don't have steering wheels!), but in the end it did the job. With our laptops firmly in place we were able to focus our attention on what really mattered, participating in raids with our WoW clan. During our last flight we were so immersed in trying to take down Eranikus that we overshot Minneapolis by a full hour and a half before some annoying flight attendant interrupted us, babbling something about "FAA and F16 fighters." We'll definitely use this product again at our next gig, whatever and whenever that happens to be... Highly recommended! |

Smithsonian magazine covered it in their July 2002 issue: Peewee Power | Science & Nature | Smithsonian Magazine That article said: As it is, Epstein’s group has a contract with the Army that calls for the scientists to demonstrate a microturbine generator within four years. That deadline, he says, is no problem. Perhaps this is why there hasn't been much more about this... its probably been classified "double-secret-squirrel ultra-secret", and there are a bunch of "black" projects centering around it. :E |
