Thanks

Chomsky,

Thanks for that info. I had been a bit cautious on their website, not wanting to click the apply link until I was ready to do so, and I am pretty sure that is where the info lay. Should have had bigger cojones, cause i clicked it a few minutes ago and there was all the info i needed.

Thanks for the reply though.

Good to know I meet the requirements.....guess i will be giving them a call when i get back from sausage-side.

Jet2.Com Military Pilot Seminar

Jet2.Com Military Pilot Seminar
You need to pre-book your place on 0113 239 7815 and be invited through HR. There were a certain number of spaces available for the Feb seminar (which is now full) but there will be another run soon. There are rumours of some people turning up speculatively without being registered or invited, this is neither recommended nor welcomed. As already mentioned, there will be another seminar run soon which can be booked through the above number.

Quite an interesting day...what did anyone think to what we were presented? I can see why some of their SFO crowd have hopped across to Emirates as the pay isn't great compared to a senior Flt Lt on enhanced FP, but then it's all relative I guess. No seniority is attractive as long as there's opportunity to progress. Capt salary not too bad. They seem to want to expand too.....

It was good catching up with so many old muckers. My opinion is that seniority isn't always all that its cracked up to be. The RAF could learn a thing or two by going back to promotion based on a meritocracy, rather than promoting those with serious lack of ability / credibility merely because they want it.

Working for a company that genuinely appreciates / awards hard work and ability would be a novelty that may not wear off. Agree that expansion plans appear to be well thought out and rather intriguing as opportunities may be forthcoming.

Having spent the lions share of my time somewhere hot and sandy I respect the kahunas of those looking to make quick money in the Middle East but would be personally more than happy to reside in the UK, and more importantly be at home more often than not. Requirements change and a position of DEC on 100% contract would be difficult to turn down even if BA/Virgin start looking again soon.
